Does anybody on here know if you can mix the breeds or do you have to keep them separate? I would probably keep mine separate but just wondering.?
You can mix them. I used to raise several different colors and had them all running together. Now I just have 3 white ones which I belive are Texas A&Ms.

Good to know thanks Gamebirds!

Sphinx, if I DID have plans they are cancelled lol. Loved watching your babies. It is dark now though, are they done? I had to leave for a bit to take care of kiddos.

I had 5 RIR's hatch last night and today. Now for the NYD hatch a long. :p
Doing Rhodebars and some EE's. Those EE's have been out in the cold for a while now. They are coming from Ohio..last I saw..in Pennsylvania, they were sent out yesterday. Hope the tracking is just slow..and they are further along..Should get them tomorrow, but will probably on Fri.

The Rhodebars were set yesterday..they were cold when they got here..of course! But, after my 24 hr. candling to look for bullseyes, I am seeing plenty, and the air sacs aren't too bad either. I'm happy about these, I lost my Rhodebar baby for an unknown reason this last summer.
I want to try and keep either a RIR roo, or Rhodebar roo..with the collar on them. See how loud they are. It would be so great to have one.

Sorry, I left to take my son to parent/teacher conferences and then two of my other kids to basketball, and someone turned off the light in the living room, so it was very dark. At this point, I have two chicks out, and two more pipped. They're awfully cute. My buyer for them may be backing out though- she had an emergency with her cat, and it's recuperating in the room she normally raises chicks, so it's a bad combo. If anyone wants these guys, they're pure fbcm, and look like they'll have beautifully feathered legs. For my BYC friends, $5 each, but you have to take all of them. LOL

Thanks, Sphinx, for the amazing eggs! The Marans' are so dark!!!! And the Olives are... well, so olive!!!! :) One of the olives had a slight crack (it looked like maybe it had been stepped on)... So I just got out some wood glue! I guess we'll see if it works!!!! haha! But yeah, thank you!

Oh no!! If you want to get a replacement, feel free to grab it. I don't know anyone going up to Cache Valley in the next day or so, or I'd send one up with you.

Oh, don't even worry! It's no big deal at all! I'm actually excited to see if the wood glue works! This could be a break through for chicken farmers everywhere! :)
