Tell me when you are ordering one and how much. My parents won't let me order stuff online unless its eBay.Soo getting a couple of these. A small one for my little cockeral out there, then one for when he gets bigger! A collar that keeps them from making a huge noise! No surgery. Turn your sound up..![]()
You will have some broody's sooner then you think. No worries Gary, maybe if these 2 eggs don't hatch I might have to call down to my friend and see if her neighbors are getting eggs, if not she will have to just wait for another Silkie. I know in the summer he was selling hatching Silkie eggs. I just need a momma outside to hatch some chicks, that way I won't have to worry about me doing something wrong.
Karen...i am not breeding the Silkies yet. I have a splash hen that laid for a a couple weeks in the fall but has stopped for the winter. Funny thing about Silkies even with a light on in the coop 24/7 they still know its not the right time of the year to lay. Even my older hen Twister is not laying. I don't breed twister due to her handicaps ( i don't want to pass on any bad genes). Come spring i will have eggs available. I have a white hen and a splash as of now but am thinking about picking up a couple more that's at point of lay in the spring. My rooster will probable have a heart attack trying to impress all his girls.
Cynthia i need to get a picture of the little white one i got from you. She is so pretty. The blue turned out to be a rooster. Does anyone want a blue Silkie roo? He is bearded and has a big crest. Nice body shape and lots of leg feathers. He is not crowing yet but will be soon i think, he is about 19 weeks old.
