Well I went there and got 6 hatching eggs, 5 of which are in lock down, and I was so very shocked when I found her address, I thought I was going to a farm or something of the sort, and it was in her single car garage. And it was extremely smelly, cramped and she had at least 50-60 chicks in each tote she had, you couldn't even see the floor of the totes, I really was in somewhat of a shock. And I really felt like taking all of those babies. She did tell me that about 80% of what she has she does have shipped in, so not sure why she says hatching weekly, maybe because she has shipments weekly. But after she told me that she had separate pens for each breed, I read further on her website, which has now changed, so the chicks that I have I thought were going to be pure bred, not like I really care, but the leghorns might be but my Welsummers no, she doesn't have a Welsummer Roo, I called back and asked after all the posts on KSL. She said that it will still be a Welsummer. I was like okay.
But I was really shocked at her setup. And I would have only bought chicks to rescue them for trampling each other. She really tried to get me to buy some too, and told me she would give me a great deal. I know when I was there her husband or some guy was spraying out tote with the hose, so maybe that is why they were so very full. But I was still in shock at how they were kept and that she could actually run that out of her garage like that.
I don't want to bad mouth her or anything, because I didn't buy chicks, but my eggs were for sure fertile, all but 1 was pulled out.
On the side note. I just had a Young Men/Women's group I think that is what they are called, not LDS, but they were on a scavenger hunt that was more trade for something better. They gave me lug nuts for fresh laid chicken eggs. HAHAHAHA! I took them out to the coops, I told them I could trade them a chick, more so as a joke, and they were like I want to see your chickens, so I took them out to the coops, and Ryan hadn't been out today, so they took 9 fresh eggs, they thought they were so cool because of the colors. One of them even said I didn't even know they came in other colors then white. That made me laugh. Reminded me of the video going around with the kids that are given a walkman.
