Utah!

Salt lake IFA had some a couple days ago!

Bantam ones? Well Brian said he would look at Chicken Stock for me. If not I might have to make a trip up there. The 3 feed store by me haven't even gotten Brahmas in at all this year, just Cochins and all LF. I saw a Bantam Brahma a few weeks ago, and OMG, they are freaking awesome.

Well I went outside yesterday and checked everyone. The only one that I could find any on was the broody momma that is sitting on eggs. I almost wonder if the Silkies just don't dust bath. I never really ever seem them in there, and I put DE in the holes every week. And I get white looking chickens when they all roll in it. So I'm wondering if it is just my Silkies, I sat and looked in the head and butts of all the girls last night for about an hour and couldn't find anything creepy crawly.

So on the Frontline issue. Does anyone on here use it and then eat the eggs. I looked it up and its the best way to treat them, but everyone recommends not eating the eggs, and most people do it with their show or breeding birds and so the egg eating is not a problem. So is my next option the poultry dust at the feed store? And should I do the momma that is sitting on eggs right now or wait till they hatch out in about 18-19 days, maybe earlier since they are Serama's.
Ya I forgot about mentioning that. I was told the same thing. I just dont worry about it since I incubate the eggs ;)

could put it in a paper bag with the chicken's head sticking out, and shake them around in it without having it get in their eyes/lungs.... right Cynthia ?

Ha, I did that once, with the seven dust. Worked great. I use the spray now. A spritz on the bum, under the wings, behind the neck, and in front of the neck.

In Heber, brand new to BYC.

Hey, glad you found us. Remember what I told you in the message I sent you? How your Buff, Australorp, and maybe...a Barred Rock would make the perfect little back yard flock? Well, see this girl above? Nothing better. I love the leghorns! Very very friendly, always first to you for the treats. I have named all of my leghorns, Miss Piggy. :) An egg a day.
Again, glad you joined! Need to find a way to get that Barred Rock to your place. Folks that are members on here get deals. I was asking 15 I think when you saw it, came down from 20, but on here, she will go for 10 dollars for friends. :)

It's not that far to your place. I can drive down any late afternoon/evening that works for you.

Thanks! It's nice to have new friends.

You will have a lot of new friends once you get going on the thread, and nice to know, on our Utah thread, you actually get to meet them. :) Let me know what time. I will have her caught. Not a hard thing to do with her. :) I will put her in a kennel when I think you are about here.

I don't know what you folks think of the Little Giant 9200, but a sweet lady in SLC has two of them for $70 a piece. I have never used one. They were a little beat up but looked to be in good working order. I got the egg turner for my DIY bator. I told her I would post the others here. I think they both had auto egg turners but I can't remember.

Well, I have three Marans hatched, they look like boys, just from wing tip guessing. Oh man. I sure hope those outside are girls. I wouldn't mind trying to keep a cockeral to go with the blue and the splash out side.
I had three of the OE's hatch of 4. One blue, three black, one black has the marans feathered leg and feet. The two black look like girls. The blue looks like a boy. Guessing at this point of course. :/
