Utah!

I live in Lindon right next to Orem! We moved here almost two years ago so that I could have my girls. They are the best therapy ever! ( They are also VERY spoiled! )

Cynthia, Glad this new batch of chicks is so much healthier. I want to see pictures!!!

Spring break vacation is irritating me this year. As you guys know, I have 2-3 classes that want me to incubate chicks for them. If I'd thought it out, I would've started a batch last week, and they would've hatched the week before spring break. But noooooooo, didn't occur to me. I hate the idea of having the incubator inaccessible for an entire week (more than that actually, counting the weekend). Oh well. I wish I knew someone else with the same incubator as me so we could have both going at once.

Oh, forgot to ask. Have any of you gotten involved with 4H for your kids? I think my little 6 year old (my chicken whisperer) would enjoy showing a chicken, but I don't know exactly how to get involved, what's involved, or if it's a fun thing for a child that young.

hhconley- welcome to you!!! Seems like so many on here from your area. I need to move!
My husband calls Orem 'chickenville' because I have been down there a few times to pick up chicks :)

Ok so I am selling my Golden Sex Link Hen---who lays amazing XL - Jumbo red brown eggs every, single, day. And I am giving my Silver Laced Wyandotte along with her, it is a BOGO lol. My SLW lays about 4 x week, sometimes 5, very good size L-XL light brown eggs.

They are both 11 months old. The GSL has gorgeous feathers, LOVES people (she would rather live in the house than the coop.) But she is bossy with other chickens, she is the leader of the pack, and even eats feathers sometimes. I have been giving her a higher protein feed and she has improved. When she is in the yard running around she leaves everybody alone. But in the run--she is still picking a little, I give up. And I cannot have her in my yard all the time because she is digging up my flower bushes. She follows me around, tries to get on me, easy to pick up, great with kids. Everything us great with her, except in the run with the chickens. If anybody has a free range situation and wants her let me know. I would like to get $10 for both.

My SLW is wonderful, in every way. BUT she looks rough, her tail has been picked on. If it is about the personality and eggs, she is great. But for looks----she needs to molt and get new tail feathers in.

If anybody is interested pm me! They are located in Logan. Thanks!

Lisa, we alllll wish you lived down here too! LOL...

Hey, on that SLW, I bet she won't even have to molt to get feathers back, my brown leghorn didn't, just needed to stop being picked on. Sounds like open range would be perfect for little miss bossy! She would be put in her place for sure, especially if there were roos around. :)

Shinx..I best get some pictures..I have someone coming from up by you that wants my cochins, and, is going to take some of the pullets that came today. I can't believe the difference in these.
There is one little one I will try and get a picture of. It is the mystery chick, because I didn't order anything with feathered legs. It looks to be a cochin, but..it has a puffy face like an Ameraucana. Anyone know if they ever get mixed? lol..They say the mystery chick they throw in is a rare breed..I don't even think it looks like a Favorile...more cochin body. It was pretty sad looking when I first opened the box, then, once it warmed up..that chick went running around like someone had wound it up to run around the coop..non stop! I have never seen anything like that. Around in circles, up the bin, down the bin, finally, it has settled down. It eats and drinks fine. It has to be tired. lol..

Cynthia--Yes!!! Chickie pics!!! Can't wait to see them, love the fuzzy cheeks.
I am taking your wisdom here, cleaning house....the higher maintenance hens are finding new homes. Roosters are next. Then we got our coop done so we made lots more space.

We are still getting Polish (from Sphinx), then a Black star/sex-link, BR, NH or GSL (hopefully a nice one), Then I will be done. Should have my 12 :) And hopefully a blue egg in there somewhere :) Hopefully with the big coop and way bigger run every body will co-exist in peace!

If anyone near Logan (Ogden to Preston will work) has pullets/chicks in those breeds let me know :)

My Blues are so sweet. I really love them. They both laid eggs for me this morning, in the same nest, at the same time lol. Pretty cute! They slept on the roost all night next to the Black EE's (sweet chickens on one end---so funny).

Ready..set...go...pictures! Lots of babies..good thing a lot are going..today!
Here is a pic of my white cochin I'm keeping, hoping it's a splash, and right by it an Araucana, no tufts, just rumpless for now, sometimes those tufts are wider, and show up later. I'm thinking the upper brown one is a speckled sussex, and the lower one a brown leghorn.
Ok, see if you can find...Silver Laced Wyondottes..New Hampshires,. white orpingtons.. brown leghorns...cochins, Araucanas..I'll give the mystery chick away here and the Orpingtons..The mystery chick is at the bottom, yellow, puffy cheeks..what, why..it has feathered feet too! The white Orpingtons are white in the middle with blue wings, and yellow on their heads..one at the left by a NH.
see, puffy face, feathered legs..hmm?
another pic. of mystery girl/boy, my guess..boy.
My fav EE..the darkest one, can't see how puffy those cheeks are!
the light EE, also has very puffy cheeks, not bad for production EE's
There's a white Orpingtion in the middle..white in the middle of the body, blue wings..they change so much.

So, I have some chicks for sale. will post the ones left after this lady comes, and after I get my pick. These that came today are all pullets..except, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a boy..but I think that gal will take it. She is taking all of my other cochins.
I have a few more eggs ordered, but, I think I have finally got my fill of fuzzy butts for a while. Has been fun. Will hatch these and those to come, and take a break. I know I have some Beautiful Ameraucanas coming. And more pretty cochins. I have some Exchequer eggs coming. I love the eggs I get from the leghorn, but that is a pretty leghorn, other than the white I've had. Also Silkies!

I'd love to see what you have for sale after today, I want two more chicks. We have an Easter Egger, Welsummer, Buff Orpington and Speckled Sussex. So I'm looking for two more that are different than those, although Easter Eggers can all look different from each other. I just want to be able to look out and tell them apart by sight.
