Utah!

Wow, busy day.

Love your coop, Phoenix.

You have adorable chicks, Cynthia. Love the excheques. So dramatic in their coloring.

Lisa, sorry about the goopy green, scary.

No,I haven't gotten rid of my lav am. roo. His comb is becoming more prominent, and I feel confident he is a roo. I'm torn- I'd planned on keeping a rooster, but I don't think he'd be the best looking choice. But, the blue egg gene is tempting for breeding.

I really should go to chickenstock and bring my blrw roos to sell. If i thought my dh would go and not mock me for the rest of my life...

Red---did you see Birdguy has Icelandics? I could pick one up for you at Chickenstock....Birdguy hope you have a great hatch!

Oh no, don't tempt me! Hehe let me think about it and I'll let you know, okay? I really do appreciate the offer. I'm going to be so overrun with chickens, it's not even funny. I was in shock after we found out how many eggs my Marans was hiding in her nest. Good grief. It's a good thing one of my cousins is interested in taking a few

And as if that's not bad enough............I have an uncle who has an OEG hen that's been sitting on eggs for a couple of weeks. He said he will give me a couple of the chicks from the hatch.

Oooohhh man, I'm in so much trouble. I don't think I've got regular ol' chicken math - I've got a whole dang case of chicken math pied, cubed, and run through the pythagorean theorem!

Cynthia, those Exchequers are beautiful! I am so in love with the black on their backs. It reminds me of my Dellie I had

Loving the little barnyard mix babies, too. I'm excited to come and meet you! And get Lisa in trouble with chicken math, hehehe........

Whoaa, sorry for the emoticon overload. I guess I'm feeling very expressive tonight.

i read a bit about the icelandics and they look very cool. you know its a super rare breed and they do not come up often... i think you should think about it. if you were to breed them you would be doing a very good thing, you know there are not a lot of them out there and you would be helping to save the breed :) sorry i will stop trying to talk you into them lol

Sphinx, my DH was very grateful that I did not ASK him to go lol! I think he was so glad he had to coach soccer that day....you are welcome to ride with me from Logan if you cannot talk him into it :)

Sasha, I know I am FREAKING out waiting for her to write back lol. If I am this close to getting blue eggs and it does not work out I think I will be sooooo bummed. But right now I am soooo excited so I hope it is a score for us on some blue egg layers. I hope she is not reading this, she could charge me a small fortune and I would likely go along haha!

Shhh! You never know! LOL! I'm totally excited, too!

Believe it or not..they are leghorns!! Look them up, they are nice for different than the whites..and now the browns that have been around for a while.

They are so neat! I love their look. The majority of chickens my great-grandparents raised on this property were Leghorns, but they were all white. Not that there's anything wrong with that at all, but when you have 1,200 chickens, it might be nice to have a variety! haha :)

That is where Red is, so no problem :)

I emailed her (your seller) through KSL to see if she also will be home Fri.night.

Red will you pm me your address so I can find ya! Or if you want I could call on my way andyou could meet me somewhere close if it is easier. Thanks!

Donna----I got new thermometers for my hatching incubator----yes the other digital one was way too cool so that is likely the culprit of those chicks not hatching. :) I am glad I got new ones! I think it worked fine up until recently---it matched my backup thermometer before but this last week was about 5 degrees off for some reason so I did not know which one was wrong . I checked the temp on both sides of my still air for hatching and they are fine, it was my thermometer that was messed up. Sooooooo hopefully better luck this week. Poor chickies were freezing! Sheesh! I have like 6 thermometers in both bators now. Looks ridiculous. And the plug is duct taped to the wall. Two things I have learned. I am sure there will be soooo many more. :p

Go for it Brad! Like you said, rare breed, needs some good folks to breed them right.

How are you doing anyway. I think us gals get to gabbing on here, and leave you out. I love your posts! By chance, are you noticing any feathers laying around the ground from your Pencil? I am seeing so many! My chicks always do that every time when they reach this age. My black Ameraucana..or EE, or whatever it is now?? lol..is also loosing a lot of feathers. I am not sure this is a small moult or what, but my chickens have never looked bald. I best knock on wood! That Pencil just keeps getting bigger and bigger! She doesn't mind coming up to me now at all..for treats!
