Cynthia---my lav girl does a similar thing, when I put new ones in....I have to separate her for an hour or so in a wire cage or outside the run so she can see the newbies, she does settle down after the little bit of time to get used to the new one. I do not know why, she hops on her back legs and fluffs her feathers all out, standing real tall and chest bumps and squeals...acts all crazed out....if the new one does not back down she goes right after. But i stay with them and shoo her, have seperated her a few times....she really does ok after the inital spaz attack lol. The last time I put the new ones in from Chickenstock I just put her in the yard, put the new ones in the run, and she stood outside the run hollering in at everybody for a bit, hopping and chest bumping at the run, probably a good two hours....then she settled down and I let her in and she was ok. Do not know if yours would have the same reaction. Hope she works out for you Sphinx! It is funny because she is as sweet as can be with everybody out there, and one of the most social with the humans..it is just the new ones that freak her out. Sphinx does yours freak out at all? She is so darn sweet the rest of the time I will hang on to her unless more problems crop up. Hope not! I have enough feather eaters without that business from her
