Cynthia, that blue girl looks the same size as Dorothy my roo I rehomed. I wonder if they were from the same hatch, you sent a bunch packing right about the same time, I remember you had loads at the same time. Soooooo tempting! Good prices too! But... I better pass on her and chicks from this hatch dang it. I was kinda hoping to get another blue....but I am over my limit again (gee this sure happens alot) I brought more back with me from Idaho than I had planned, (how many chocolate eggers can one possibly need??)now I am over 30 again. I really need to stay closer to 25 lol wish me luck with that. Will be getting that hammer out again...... . hey if you have blue and black possible why not splash too?

Sundance, if you need me to keep these babies for a bit it is NO problem. You really need to rest, I do not want you to end up in the hosp again girl!
I am home this weekend, we have all the time in the world so no rush. I have lots of weekends coming up at home (unfortunately) my daughter is dancing in the Celebrate America show and has tons of rehearsal so our outdoor recreation is much more limited than what it should be :/ So you can come whenever you are feeling good enough!

Sasha I would love a BBQ! Problem has just been having time. I will work on it and see what I can come up with Dh has been working nights a ton at his second job (trying to fund the DD's senior year eek!), and last weekend we were home Sat and Sun and I asked if he wanted to get together with friends, he says are you kidding? He was sooo tired, he just wanted to chill and sleep Poor dh, he works so hard to take care of us

Birdman thanks for the help! I think that will work. My chickens have an 8x10 enclosed run but I like to let them out in my garden area that has a 6 foot fence around it but nothing on top. So I think putting fishing line will work great because I can run it from the fence to the house on one side and fence to fence on the other. Hope this isn't a dumb question but here it goes..... How close together should I make the grid do you think to scare of a hawk?

Cynthia so happy you have a chick!!! Pictures coming right?! Mine will be hatching in 5 days and I can't wait! (the eggs from bird guy) oh and I wish I could have a Silkie roo.

Sundancen you better be careful or you are going to end up back in the hospital. I can't believe all that you are doing and have planned to do. Be so careful and take care of yourself.

Cousin Hattie: I almost texted you again while I was driving haha! Was sooo glad grandkids were not with me. Last time the babies got some 80s rock to settle them down. Oh I love my 80s rock and roll when I am alone in the car! This time we listened to Pink Floyd. Chickens like Pink Floyd. Just sayin'. And Def Leppard lol

Sundance, you should wait til Sunday and then I'll be home, and you'll have resting time.

Hawks: I see them all the time around my house. Since my coop is enclosed, I just enjoy them. We have tons of mourning doves, which is why we see so many hawks. I've even seen quail and pheasants.

Cynthia, that blue is gorgeous. If I didn't have my husband with me, I have to admit I'd buy her and sneak her home. I am happy to stop by and pick her up for someone else though

Oh, I was looking at my polish, and I'm 90% sure Thing 1 is a pullet and Thing 2 is a cockerel. If he's not too noisy and can get along with the two cockerels I'm keeping, I think I'll keep him.

Now this idea is great. Fish line would work, may also discourage the doves from coming around. They are really bad around here. Telling my hubby as I type.

Thinking this baby will be interesting to watch grow..those wing, neck, and tail feathers will change into some color I'm sure.

This year has been crazy with them! And just got an invite for one in Wisconsin this fall....Oh, boy. Don't think we'll make that one, though.

You got it! Four for me. 2 project marans crosses, 1 FBCM, and a second gen olive egger. ( I successfully said no to the clean faced AM after staring soulfully into her eyes and deciding we were meant for each other. Pretty good willpower, huh!)

I had 7 in the car this time with the girls for the BYC friends. Not too bad or stinky.

HEY! I have a family reunion here Saturday too....Mockli reunion....how funny would that be if we showed up at the same one
