Utah!

Haven't read through all the recent posts yet, but before I forget what I was going to say:

kidasoto, that SLW looks suspiciously masculine to me. I could be wrong, but it just looks like a boy. Here's my mom's SLW pullet to compare. I think she's about 12 weeks old.

Sorry, she's a wiggle worm.

Thanks it was cool. The kids thought it was awesome. Im also not sure when the egg was laid. We didnt find it till around 6pm. Would it still be ok to use if it was laid in the am? Since we are new to chickens and this is are first egg is there anything i need to do or know?

These are the suspects. I think they hatched around march 8. So about 5 mon old.

?Not sure what this one is

?Same with this one. She still has the huge bump also

BO

RIR

We got the chick on the 8th of june. So im guessing hatching was around the 4th. So it would be 2 mon old. So a boy?
yeah its okay to use it :) i do not even keep my eggs in the fridge, they just sit in a basket on the counter. eggs are coated with a coating that keeps them safe so unless you wash that off, you do not have to refrigerate them, granted they do not stay fresh as long if you keep them at room temp. just be sure to wash it before you use it :)

Lisa.. if you need an excuse to come see the piglets... and get a couple for turkeys for whitni and some pullets for yourself... bring that black roo over so you can justify your visit...  :lau

Awwww those babies are Cuuuute! Love the little piggy faces. That is what I need to avoid getting next ! :/ Crazy. I will let you know if i can't find a home for this boy. You could add him to your week's menu. I cannot eat my own. It just grosses me out. Hoping I can find someone who wants him this weekend at our farmer's market there is a guy there that took the blue...crossies!

I've refrigerated fresh eggs for more than a month and still had them be good. They're awesome.

Sphinx, the turkeys will eventually be for food, but not for a while.

My midwife got a turkey and named him Christmas because that's when they were going to eat him. Three years later Christmas is still in her backyard. :)

First off Hector, congrats on being able to keep your babies.
