Utah!

Cynthia - those babies are adorable!! I'm so excited! We have our brooder all set up, now it just needs chicks.

Which two are you liking..I am thinking I see a couple of girls in the yellow and blacks, and there are two brown/other colors..lol..mixed..should be interesting.
I think I will keep three, the light one, another brown/red one, and maybe one of the black and yellows. There are a couple of blues..shucks, I want a blue too..lol..but, I have more hatching, so I will have more to choose from..pick one but the light one. :D

Welcome to the board, Lithium and Megan! We have the best people on BYC right here.

Excellent hatch rate on your SF's! Were these shipped eggs? Also, did you use your reptipro to incubate and then the hova for lockdown?

Lisa-ha ha ha!!! What a surprise! Hope you find that sneaky roo soon. :) Any idea at all who it might be?

These are the two that caught my eye...which ones are looking girly to you? I'm trying not to get to set on any of them because I don't want to find out one that I really wanted is a boy! I also like the looks of the brown ones.

The black and yellow one on the left...I think the brown one right next to that is lovely, too. Ohh...who am I kidding...they're all adorable. :)

Chicks to die for Cynthia, so so so cute. How fun to get such a variety of colors in one hatch!

Sasha! I was coming to see you at work today. I really was. THEN my kids showed up. Lots of people at my house, unexpected! Ack! What nights are you working this next week? We need to come see ya! I have to come in and get birdseed, and want to come when you are there :D No I have not a clue who the "ninja-roo" is (Good one ara haha!) Could be a few....

Sundance, where are you ! :D Hope you are having fun in Phoenix with the grandbabies. We need to get your housekeeper/chickie sitter online so he can upload photos :/

Aravis, I like your picks. Adorable babies

On the blue, I can already lean towards girl on those wings tips. I am not quite sure yet on the black and yellows. All three of those, but one are real tight on the end..to me, has always been a sign for boy, but it really is too early to tell..by Tues..I will have a better guess on them, but Like I said, that blue you like already had nice loose ends..will see by Tues. who has the most grown out! I really like the browns too, they have some red to them, I have one picked out, it it looks good by Tues. :) I sure am hoping the real light one looks girly by then. I think that one will change a lot.

I just got an e-mail from the breeder because I sent her some pics, and asked how soon you get to see if they will have a crest or not. I guess some are born with a slight little mohawk, but then, more often than not, the tops will pop out when the start getting the pin feathers. So, none of these look crested..as of yet. Hope you get one that is! And me too! She said, just wait, they change so much, and it's like ~ SURPRISE~ And she said they are the more friendly of her chickens. I've been reading that, one reason why I wanted to try them. Well, I will post pictures again on Tues. of the ones that look real girly to me. Just remember, I'm not a real expert at this..lol..so don't be mad at me if you get a boy/boys.

I can tell that your Australorp and buff sex link are girls. I know they were bought that way, but sometimes they get one wrong here and there. Yours are girls! Getting their little tail feathers already!

Yes, shipped eggs, and I have more of hers in a bator that are doing well...no not in that bator. No, I have it in waiting for you. :) I've used it more for lock down than incubation..holds that humidity like no other..don't need it up high in there at all. Start reading up on it. I did a a large hatch in it with those EE mixes that a few people have on here. Had a great hatch with them, remember, the half Am. and half leghorns? I had that bator stuffed with them. I have two different people out here with some too. My girl is looking a little pink now. :) I wonder if she will do the Ameraucana, wait for a while before she lays, or the leghorn early lay..or just the norm 20 week time. Leghorns can start laying as early as 16 weeks, I've heard even earlier. And, I've hatched EE's in it, Silkies in it, they didn't do well anywhere I put them this past summer, and I have hatched showgirls in it, they also didn't do well for me later in the year. Wow, did I get off the subject...anyway, ara is coming on Wed. She will pick up your bator, and Lisa's chick. Ummm...right ARAVIS?

No guarantees Sasha---when I pick up that chick and bator from Aravis, I may just bring that bator home and stuff it full of eggs haha :)

It will be fun to see it and what you decide to hatch in it! bantams only now don't forget.....

Sundance, I will be meeting aravis in the next week or two in Ogden, perhaps a sizzle or two could ride the chickie train?

Mimichicks, if you want those other two white/gray chicks that I could not decide on yesterday let me know. I have decided to sell them :)

Cynthia, I've read up a little on the incubator. I'm so excited! Have heard lots of good stuff about it...but you have the experience with this bator so I'm all ears for secret tips. PM me your snail mail address and I'll send you a check.

Lisa, yesterday was CRAZY at the store! The manager was like "All these people must be anti-Aggies!" Ha ha :) Because they were at the store instead of the game. This week I'm working every evening, Tues-Fri...rotating 5-9pm and 4-9pm. So Whatever day you pick, I'll be there for sure each evening after 5.
If you want to use the bator before I get it, feel free! I really don't have any plans for it until after the first of the new year. And then...bantam eggs...and then....more bantam eggs and then....I'm considering hatching some dominques, maybe some exchequers, Silkies and Swedish flower hens. I'm still playing with possibilities in my head.

We've decided to always keep at least a few LF to have normal size eggs for eating.
