Vacuum Cleaner Ratings wanted PLEASE!

I just go to WalMart and buy the cheapest upright that says it's good for pet hair. They'll last 2 or 3 years and one works as well as another.

no belts nothing breaks it is made differently than all other vacumes yes it is bagless and freaking amazing. I swear if you get it and dont like it I will buy it from you and I have no ties to the company at all but I feel so strongly about after trying every other vacume on earth practically and none of them ever lasting more than a year. Oh and the bills to fix all those other vaccumes cost more than the vacume did.

I have to put my vote on Dyson also! My dh breaks every single vacuum that we've ever owned in the 18 yrs we've been married because he doesn't pick things up, just runs them over and wonders why the motor burns out.

I got my Dyson on craigslist and it works amazingly well! No losing suction and the amount of dirt and hair it gets up every time I vacuum...wow.

I've had both the rainbow and kirby's. I love the rainbow, but kirby's are just too heavy for me to lift, especially if you have stairs to do.
The rainbow is great for keeping the air clean, but I'm not the best about cleaning the bowl out.

Have hated every vacuum I've ever had - have never had the ones recommended here though. The latest evil vacuum was a Dirt Devil - it always fell over and cracked me in the spine when I was trying to use the hose to get to small areas, no matter how careful I tried to be. I murdered it and left it on the curb with the following sign "Please take me - I am evil and can not live here any longer". It was gone the next day, mercifully.

Just get a shop vac. Seriously.

$50, picks up anything and everything, including every kind of pet hair imaginable. We have three cats (including one longhaired cat), two big furry dogs, a spouse who refuses to use the boot scraper properly, 300 years' worth of dust, major repairs to create sawdust, long hair, and nothing, nothing can stop the shop-vac.

It's not pretty, but you can get attachments for carpet and such, and it WORKS. I'd put it up against a Dyson any day.

i have the kenmore canister.. i love it..i have had uprights. canisters you name it.. have vacummed for over 50 yrs.. love the kenmore canister the best.. and i have lots of pets.. gets hair off the couches , floors you name it.. pricey but worth it.. i would do it again

I've had Mieles for 6 years now and haven't had any trouble with them, and boy do they suck up stuff!! One of them has been seriously trashed too, when one of the boys used it for a shop vac - for a couple of weeks until I caught him! Even that didn't phase the vacuum (although it is now painted with black spray paint, sigh, and looks like something you wouldn't give $5 in a garage sale). Highly recommended for people with allergies and/or pets.

My sister has a Dyson which she loves, and it does well with all her pet hair, however, when I go to buy bags for my Miele there are always Dysons there for repair. I once questioned the repair man about my observations and he said Dysons are not that reliable and he wouldn't recommend them.

Go to epinions.com and see what people have to say about the various ones on the market.
