Valentine's Day 1st Annual Hatch Along

Well i got an email that my eggs are to be mailed to me tomorrow. I think I must have thought "next Monday" meant the next Monday after payment and not NEXT Monday of the following week, lol.

That's alright though cause he's throwing in a few extra Swedish hen flower eggs to my Rhodebars and Cream Legbars! yippee skippy!!!! And in a couple days i'll pick up two dozen of lavender orpingtons, jubilee orpingtons and white dorkings. WHOOOOOO HOOOOO!

So I suppose I don't mind a late delivery on eggs if I'm getting an extra breed I've been wanting anyways.

the svart hona aren't cheap but if you are willing to work with them then they're worth it!

They are quite expensive and this is only one of the reasons we will be waiting on working with them. We also have a lot of learning to do so they will remain on the list for now.

Do they happen to be coming from Oregon? I have a shipment of eggs coming in late February that are cream legbars and they are throwing in some Swedish flower eggs as well.

I would love to join the hatch-a-long! I am putting in some Serama eggs from my newly laying girls, they usually hatch a little early so they should hatch by the 14th! I might stick a couple extras in tomorrow too.

I set 18 serama eggs yesterday! they will hatch a little early but all is good when little fuzzy butts are involved.

Awesome! I have to hatch a friend for my little Sparkle chick. Each batch I put in seems to be more viable than the batch before, so I do hope to have plenty of fuzz butts soon. I can't wait to see what they look like!

I really love that about them... surprise chicks!

My first hen that I hatched just went broody too and she has 7 eggs doing beautifully!

I have a few hens that seem to want to take turns being broody. I have been taking eggs from them though. maybe this spring when temps come up outside I might let them hatch some out.
