Valentine's Day 1st Annual Hatch Along

Nothing in mine either!  Hoping I haven't killed them all when the turner stopped working, although I did see some movement when I did a final candle at lockdown.  20 eggs awaiting.   Been pretty good at temps, but this morning's acrtic front has it lower than usual, had to adjust.  Hoping they are just late.
my broody hen is due to hatch today and tomorrow and when I checked hers she had 3 internal pips last night. So she should have chicks today. The incubator I won't open to check again but it's been a solid 99.3 to 99.8 the whole time. They were all alive yesterday morning when I did my final once over of all lockdown survivors. I had 2 svart hona eggs I pulled on day 18 cause they quit a few days before. Probably day 15 to 16 quitters. I caught the incubator at 98.8 a couple times but it wasn't for more than a couple hours when the wood stove let the house get a little cool. Anxiously waiting to get off work in hopes of chicks!

Edited cause I definitely didn't proof read that for spelling!

To any new hatchers. The room that your bator is in as well as the weather outside can effect your temp and humidity in your bator. Using heat in winter drys out the air so having to add more water in winter is necessary. If you have central heat and air or using electric heaters or space heaters that are in different rooms or a window air conditioner makes a diffferenct because the temperature in every room is not gonna be the same. If your using a ceiling fan or other fan makes a difference. Your bator can keep stable in one spot in a room and not another. It all depends. Some people put their bators in a closet where I don't. At my previous home the best place was my hallway which was of course in the way but I put it there anyway. In this house my utility room is the best place but it's not in there. The room we don't use other than to walk thru is where they are. When we first moved here and I didn't have my washer and dryer in the utility room I had my incubators set up. They stayed stable even though that room has 3 walls and 2 of those are mostly window. In the dining room that my bators are in now has 1 regular sized window and the door we use regularly. I have my bators sitting on a fish tank stand in the only available spot in that room which is between my dinning room table and deep freeze. I put my brooders on the kitchen table for about a week before I move them to the front porch.

When using heat for winter the water wells seem to have to be filled more often because the heaters suck the moisture out of everything. My window air conditioner is also in the window in this room so it's the best place to store my hatching eggs and the bator don't get too warm inside in summer.

my brist hen is die to hatch today and Torrie and when I checked jets she had 3 intensity pips last night. So she should have chicks today. Wait... Ohiki AND Svart Hona???
I think I will be laying in a puddle of drool for a bit now, lol... :)

My last 2 hatched on day twenty here is group shot

6/6 eggs, # 3 (sugar)in pic makes seven chicks
,
My last 2 chicks were the ones I was waiting on I have a splash and a dark blue.

Best wishes to all the Valentine's day hatchers.

My bantam roos have very small combs even as adults it will be a while to tell if I have a roo, but I will not worry about roos, since I only have one SFH roo currently and a lady who breeds them lost a roo and wants him, I would keep the blue or the splash as a roo for sure.

Quote: These are older pictures. Rosie has filled out quite a bit more with red since this picture was taken.
I wouldn't expect that chick to stay completely white. I'd say it would be white with some sort of coloring. Whether it be red or black or both. Mix breeds get interesting when hatching cause it shows all those hidden genetics.
