that must be exciting! congrat's to everyone's peeps and pip's. As of now, mid way through day 21, 9 of 15 are out with no further pip's. I have 3 sussex left and 3 millies. I will let them go through day 22...if there are no pip's by then...i may entertain the thought of me going in after them to see if i could at least save one.

Due tomorrow and I got nothing so far. I'm in there checking every five minutes.

I guess it's like a watched pot... a watched egg never hatches. I did however get my silkie eggs today! I got 4 cuckoo. 3 white, 1 buff, 2 black, blue, and black splash. I'm super excited about the cuckoos she has really nicely barred birds

and we have a little over two dozen of our own eggs to go in after these hatch/don't hatch. I'd like to get them in the bator by Monday at the latest. C'mon little eggs c'mon

strangely i've had an egg pipping and zipping every day under my broodies! i had 2 pop yesterday, 1 today, and she still has 3 more that i originally put under her from my own flock! then i moved some of the eggs a few days ago from the bator to put under her to finish out their last days so i wouldn't get them mixed up with the eggs from another breeder's that i left in the bator to hatch in there.

my hatch from last week went 5 days in a row where i had an egg pip, i had a total of 6 chicks but 2 were picked on by a couple of hens in the pen with moma and later died.

Ok, I admit, I assisted a bit the two that had zipped but couldn't get out because of the dry membrane sticking to them as a result of my lack of humidity monitoring. So, now I have 5 chicks from eggs I thought were 'questionable' and didn't sell! My husband asked me "Are you hatching more eggs AGAIN?!" I said yes, they weren't planned! I just stuck them in the incubator to see if they would hatch-nothing to lose- and THEY DID HATCH! 5 of 7 hatched! (1 nonfertile, 1 quitter) I'll post pics of my new little porcelain d'uccles as soon as they've dried off enough to put in the brooder bin! Good luck to all remaining hatchers!
