Vandalism and predator attack.

I am so broken hearted for these girls. Still working on the police to treat this as vandalism since received threats a week ago. Plan to complain to police department on Monday. I do believe predators got to them after humans since we received threats of this nature. Will work to put security on the coop area such as cameras. I do not know what kind at this point but feel need something that would catch predators both human and wild alike.

Go talk to those boys' Mamas!!!! You should have done that before this happened, frankly

You know I had a friend in high school who's uncle was a bit unhinged. He was a Vietnam vet. Anyways, when he got divorced his wife falsely accused him of beating the dogs as an excuse to justify asking for court ordered supervision during his visits with the kids. He had never mistreated the dogs, but became furious and threatened his wife he would bury one alive and make a hat out of the other dog. He was charged with "domestic terrorism" for that remark and served jail time.
Maybe consult an attorney (many offer free consultation) about whether the boys remarks to you are a crime. Only useful if you know who they and their parents are though.
Makes me wonder actually if one of the boys let his dog in to do that damage on purpose possibly

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'd take those pictures over to the kids parents, inform them of the threats their children made and also notify them that you will be putting up cameras.... And if you catch them on your property, you will prosecute for trespassing.
It might have been a predator, but if you have little sh*ts like that in your neighborhood, they need a wake-up call before someone's dog or cats go missing too.

Do you have a local animal control dept. or humane society in your area? They may be able to help...let you know of any other cases in the area and how to proceed. So sorry this happened

Netgear makes wireless cameras you can put anywhere. Or Blink. Put up cameras asap. I believe also the kids did it.

Did the kids have a grudge against you for some reason? I don't believe two adolescent boys would threaten to do this out of the blue. And I don't believe this is their first time to threaten to (or act out) harm to an animal or person. Check around with the other neighbors. It could be these kids are terrorizing the neighborhood, and if so, the juvenile authorities need to be involved.
Kids who kill animals often grow up to be adults who kill people.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I do hope you invest in some game cams with cobra cables that lock so no one can remove them.

I'm not sure how the parents of these kids will take a conversation as oftentimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It might be beneficial to mail them a letter with photos and send it registered so you get a signature. Just in case you need proof of this past episode in the future. Is it possible your neighbors might've heard/seen what happened or anyone leaving the area?

Involve animal control too. Animal abuse is taken seriously by them.
