Ok. Sounds like I have a lot of studying to do.

Study would be good but not absolutely necessary. It's pretty simple.
Stay away from anything in a package, anything with ingredients, cook all you eat from scratch or preferably eat it raw.
I'm not vegetarian but the previous sentence pretty much sums it up.
Good luck weaning yourself from food dyes, artificial flavorings, sweeteners and preservatives. Your body will thank you.

Yah, my diet is kinda weird - I lost 50 pounds about 8 years ago doing body for life, so my diet is kinda still oriented towards the 'bodybuilding' side of things. I no longer do hardcore BFL, but I got kinda used to some of the food so that's where the protein pancakes/shakes/powder in the oats comes from.

I buy special pasta, called fibergourmet. If I didn't have that, I like WW pasta or brown rice or barley for my carbs. I also use shirataki, but they are rather unpalatable unless mixed with veggies and other things. Ezekiel bread for bread, or latortilla WW tortillas. Oh, and I love natural peanut butter. mmmmmm..

I rarely eat tofu (everyone thinks veggies love tofu!) - maybe in a soup or in a scramble, but not too fond of it. I do make Seitan ('meat' made out of wheat gluten), but cannot STAND tempeh (fermented soy).

Interesting. I'm taking notes.

The bottom line. Food comes from a plant or eats what comes from a plant. Food is not made in a plant.
IMHO, ANYTHING that is not entirely plant, fungus or animal is not food and regardless of what the FDA says, it's not safe to consume. Your body has no idea what to do with those things.
If one wants to be sick, just keep loading yourself up with things made in a lab.

Buckwheat pancakes are pretty good.I like buckwheat noodles too(soba).

I recently got some sea salt from Italy.Was so excited till I notice something added for anticaking.Who knows what the numbers stand for.I wil look it up.Alteast it wasn't in the coarse sea salt. I have to REALLY read all the lables better. So stuff still slips by.

I find reactions interesting when I point out ingredients that people may not be aware of eating.Like jello is made from bones,or that the pink in yogurts is often carmine from bugs. I don't eat jello,but I would eat bug yougurt over one with red 40.My favorite was just plain homemade yogurt with fruit or salty with cucumbers and garlic.

OM,that reminds me I read scientists are working on making MEAT in a lab. Yes,taking muscle cells and providing them a structure to grow on.They say right now it is grey and tasteless,but by the end of the year they might have an actual burger made from lab meat.

I think Miss Prissy had a good yogurt recipe on here somewhere... using a crockpot.. something like that..
