Venison....

I missed my one and only shot this year today on a small doe. I'm deerless with no venison.... anyone else get any deer this year? I have some time yet...

Same here, no deer yet. hubby been going out every day , but he don't stay out too long, I think the cold has really been bothering him more lately. he usually goes to Wva. every year, but this year was different. Down there he always gets deer, plus other hunters give them away. I'm hoping he has some luck in the next few days. I wanted to try and can some deer meat this year. Tried it for the first time recently and I really did like it canned. Seems like we see them all summer, in the evenings when I'm sitting out with the chickens, but come hunting season... forget it. They sure are smart. Good luck to ya.

Where at in Northeast Ohio are you? I'm just north of downtown Akron. About 25 minutes.

Our hunting season closed last weekend,dh got no deer again this year.

Take one every year for meat, son took one yesterday......i take more with the camera....

hubby and boy wonder are waking up at 3 am to go tomorrow...I am not. But I hope they get one!

took this with the camera, only 50 feet away.....didn't us the flash...5 pm.. could have easy took it with gun or bow...letting him grow another year.
