Cmcgoun, I think you missed the point of that part of luvmychicknkids' post. She was saying that homeschoolers are the ones attacking people like her for sending her kids to public school.

I think luvmychicknkids was sort of quoting the attitude some people have toward people who send their kids to public school, not actually attacking anyone.

THANK YOU.

I teach high school and the blatant disrespect I have had to tolerate is beyond my threshold at times. I am a good, kind, decent, giving person trying to do my job, and I am smart as a whip. It may seem arrogant to say that but I am very bright and I am not going to dumb myself down or sell myself out for the minority of students that I teach that have been conditioned to disrespect the institution of education.

Ironically the minority of students and their families that have the most negative things to say to me, including bashing me for driving an old car I can barely afford to upkeep, are the ones that suck me dry emotionally and financially. They have been raised to slum it and think the world owes them one because life is so unfair.

I was homeschooled for several years because the schools surrounding me were so bad the cops had to patrol the grounds 24/7. I was also a public high school student later on in my academic career, and that school was one of the best in the country, ironically enough. To me, the problem is there is no national standard for education.

Oh and how dare you people make fun of others working in vehicle factories. They are going for very tough times right now. At least they have jobs, they are not homeless. They are people too, what astounds me is you open up a thread about teachers being "made fun of" but yet you go and crack jokes at the factory workers.

^That is high class

I currently go to public school, does that make my parents stupid?
You yourself sound pretty arrogant. Maybe you need knocked down a few pegs?

Reading comprehension dear.......it is an AMAZING tool!!!!

I think they were talking about people who were mechanics, not necessarily people who work in factories. I could be totally wrong.

WoW was speaking hypothetically, saying talking about teachers in a certain way is like talking about assembly line workers in a certain way. I believe he said it's not his personal opinion.

I'm sorry! It's true that teachers do not get the respect now that they got when I was in school. I had mostly good teacher and so have my kids. My son had a rough kindergarten teacher and he used to come home with headaches everyday. He still loved school and went on to college. He had some of the most caring teachers in high school and I am so grateful.
I think I never wanted to home school my children because I realize that I am not qualified. I also want them to learn that if they have a not so nice teacher they can get through it and it is not the end of the world. You can't run and hide from problem people.
Thank you for all your hard work!!
