Vent Gleet? UPDATED* fecal test indicates tapeworms and roundworms

I keep updating my birds status but no one is answering me. Sick bird needs help.

You might get more help if you start your own thread:

Nice link CP.
Think they are posting in this monster thread:

not the best way to get/give help IMO.

That thread gets way too confusing for me.

For those of you following this thread and my flock's story, I have a concern. My Buff Orpington died and now one of her "sisters" has a droopy, purplish comb. She was acting just fine this morning but I have a full day today and not much time to observe her today. Could my ladies just be getting old? Or is there something else I should be looking for? If she starts acting sick I'm going to try to get her to the lab ASAP to see if they can find out what's going on. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Now might be a good time to get a baseline weight on any that are looking a little off, and really monitor the poop of the off ones. How about pictures of the one with the purple comb?

How old are they? Age probably has nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure of their exact age. They were of laying age and full grown when we got them Dec. 2015. So about 2- 3 years at least if I had to guess. I read on other threads could be hormones, molting, worms and lice (which this thread is all about). I can treat them a third time with permethrin in case it's lice. Just don't want to over treat.

Good idea! I will go do that before we go brand cattle!

I don't know if this is worth noting but it has gone from 80 days to 50 degrees with a terrible wind and rain storm all day Friday. Not sure if weather may have an impact or not but wanted to communicate!

Here is her comb

That pic is pretty dark, need one taken in bright light..or maybe it's just my screen.

I popped it into a photo program and lightened it....doesn't look purple to me, just looks a bit pale.....like a bird out of lay.

Having trouble uploading. Desktop editor on my phone won't let me upload and mobile only does one at a time. She definitely isn't laying. None of my BOs have for months now. But it is really faded compared to her sisters. Her feather shafts look good. She weighs 6 lbs, same as her sister. I'll keep trying to upload between chores!

Kay, in back, hen with faded comb. Jenny in front. Jenny's comb has brightened significantly since ridding her of lice.
