Ventilation ideas

chickens are still growing but I will have 22 chicken in this coop made for 25 it has a window where the outside run door is and one on the main door plus the roof has about a 4 inch gap it’s usually a little bit warmer than outside I’m in OK where it gets hot do I need more ventilation

Can you put a fan in one window blowing out so you could suck out the air and bring in some fresh air since it's cooler out there than in your coop?

We have a programmable one but started with just a small box fan we bought on Amazon a long time ago for cheap. It did the trick, but we just wanted one that worked on temp so it wasn't always counting on us to turn it on and off.

Unfortunately you're going to need a LOT of ventilation - each bird should have 1 sq ft in ventilation in moderate temperatures, hot climates may need 2-3x that.

You might want to see how feasible it is to open up the entire wall facing into the run. Since the run is not predator proof you'd either need to predator proof the run (securely attached 1/2" hardware cloth or welded wire all over, plus an apron at least 18" out) OR would need to cover the coop wall in hardware cloth that's well secured.

What does your roof framing look like from the inside?
Open soffits are one good way for winter, tho you do need more than that in summer.

The run is the coop is 9 feet long about 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall there are 12 nesting boxes 6 on each side and 3 roosting bars usually my 7 week old silkie and polish are on the ground cuddling with my 8 week old black copper maran and 2 speckled sussexs, 2 Easter egger 8 week olds are in the nesting boxes, my 12 week old 3 bared rocks are on the 2nd highest or the highest perch, and my four 14 week olds (2 black French copper marans, 1 blue copper maran, and a lavender Orpington) are sleeping in the top roost. Also I lied I have 3 windows on the front

Welcome to BYC. You will need MUCH more ventilation to get good airflow. You'll know that you have enough when the temperatures inside and out are the same.

You should remove the peak wall under the roofing and install 1/2 inch wire cloth in the triangular space. That should give cross air flow and remove the heat.
