Oh - I'll take him!!!

But I can't come out right now - we are getting a nice snow today ! and I have some town meetings and such tomorrow ....

Would the weekend for you ?? how old is he - he looks like a young fellow ?

I'll even trade you some snack crackers for him :)

Sorry, didn't see your reply. He's still here and available. I hatched him in the Spring, sold all my D'uccle flock. Only have a couple boys left. Come get him! ;)

I have a splash boy too.

He's lovely - but you know how easy it is to collect too many roos !!! :) So I'll just take the Millie boy ...

I may be able to come out some nice day next week ? Do I need to adjust for a work schedule ? or just make it for Next (not this) Saturday ?

Let me know if you like spicy flavors or just regular - as I promised I would trade some nice snack crackers for him!

I'd be tempted to take the splash boy if I had any hens for him, but I already have a girlfriend-less cochin bantam who I need to get some hens for. I have the one partridge silkie for him, but I wish I could get him a few more girls too.

Yeah - he is very pretty !

Say - you remember Momma Chickie ? Oh She of the poopy butt ? Well you washed her butt for me ... a few weeks later she was all cruddy again - so I washed her & then gave up .... she just must poop funny when she is laying - as her butt is fine when she broods.

Anyhow .... the last few days have been so frigid - I've just fed and watered and not paid them any attention - I look around and if they are all walking around I just nod and go inside to get warm ....

I look over them today and Momma Chickie has a block of ice so thick and long - if she just leaned back she would be sitting on a stool made of ice & frozen poop !!!!! Sheesh .

So I started to visualize what type of sledge hammer I had to break it up - and how to get DH to agree to hold a poopy chicken while I hack at her .... then I realized it was the feathers !

.... so got her laid out on a bale of hay and clipped the feathers ... off it came.

Sheeh - that girl.

I wonder why she's always like that. You even tried giving her yogurt to straighten her out, I remember, and no help. Just weird. At least you got her freed, lol.

Yes - I put her aside specifically with some good yogurt -so she would get it all .... and I watch when they eat - she is not a mean hen - but she is a top hen - so no one pushes her off food !!!

I even went so far as to watch her poop ! but didn't really see anything odd .... ????? So I just gave up. Anyway - I let her brood whenever - so that clears her up for months .... so it has to be related to laying her egg and her vent feather area.

I don't breed with her - she only sets on other eggs ... so not going to pass on the poopy butt ... but OMG I felt so bad for her this morning dragging around a column of frozen poo !!!

It is not a pretty day out today, but at least it's a bit warmer for the birds. Not looking forward to it all freezing up tonight though. I'm still down about the loss of most of my CCL's, but I have eggs lined up for the spring, and I still have my white baby, so hatching whites won't be so hard as I won't have to mark her to find her eggs - I only have the two pullets, so half of the chicks I hatch from my own eggs will have the white gene or be white.
