Very sick 10 month old EE, can barely stand, lethargic, drooping wings, and more

I hope it contains something that will actually kill the lice.
..and I would still isolate and observe examine the bird for normal digestion.
Yeah. I ordered it off amazon because my local tractor supply is like an hour and 30 minutes away from my house. And yes we will continue to keep her in this dog crate for around a week

Thank you for your response! She looks a littttttle bit better, and we think that she has lice. We put a little bit of Diatamecious Earth in her food and around her wings and back, and saw small bugs coming out. She also has a dirty vent but we didn’t think much of it until we looked more into lice in poultry and saw that a dirty vent is a sign of bugs. We tried giving probiotics but as she had trouble eating, it was too big for her to eat. We will try giving her plain yogurt, again, thanks for your wishes and response!
Buggers can definitely make them sick! There are a lot of threads with advice on what to do; most entail treating the entire flock with something like permethrin. I'm not having luck linking with my phone but a search should bring up a number of results... Hang in there!

How is this bird today?
She’s doing better! We still have her isolated but she sleeps less throughout the day and seems a little more active so I’m assuming the bugs are slowly reducing. We still have lots of work to do to get rid of these bugs but the progress is good so far! I’ve also heard her make some of her noises for once a while, so that’s good.

Did you get permethrin?

Do you know that what you mentioned feeding in your other thread could be a huge part of her current problem...besides the lice?

we didn’t get permethrin but we found this other spray that apparently works good. If it doesn’t work good we will be sure to get it.

Maybe but she isn’t the highest in the pecking order and some eat more than she does. But that’s exactly why I want to cut down their food, because their health is the number one priority and I want to fix this before it gets too out of hand.

If you don't get rid of the lice quickly it could kill her.
What product did you buy?

If one bird has lice they all do. Treat everyone and the coop.

We bought this, we found it off amazon Not sure if it’s too good or not. We sprinkled DE all around the coop and in the chickens and we are planning to put the spray on them too.

And just to be sure, the permethrin they say is for clothes and gear is the one you are suggesting for my poultry, right?

Our local feed store had a “poultry and garden dust” permethrin. I have not applied it myself, but was told by an experienced farmer that they take them out of the coop one at a time, then holding by the feet gently flip upside down, and dust thoroughly. He puts a thin cotton sock over their head before flipping so it protects their nasal passages and respiratory tract. They have two people working together so one is holding and one is dusting.
Glad your Ducky is better!
