caution Use D E with great caution because if you get it in your lungs it can cause you major problems. You can safely drink it and many people do, but it is very bad if you breathe it in. my heart goes out to you with your girl.. what did the other orphingtons die from?

The three others died far apart from each other.
The first one to pass was my buff rooster baby at 3 months.
He died differently, he ate mold T_T
The second hen died at 4 months, then the last died a week or so after that. And they all curled up at night and just didn't wake up in the morning

She is 6 months old now, and yes I have other chickens.
3 silver laced whyndottes (cant spell) that came with the buffs are all alive and doing great, there just tiny

I think I got a bad batch of chicks T_T Is that even possible?

I would suspect the heart if they are all from the same roo and hen

Alright I will, thank you for the warning.
The others were from the same litter and died the same way, so i assume it was the same reason...

Hi, I could use some help. Purchased 7 different day old chicks, same hatchery as my older chicks. NEVER any problem with any chick, until lately. Baby chicks are now a month old. THe Delaware, has poop problems. Hard poop to be exact. She squats and tries and tries to poop. Her little bottom is more enlarged then the other 6 chicks from all the pushing. I called the hatchery and they are not sure how to cure. They felt she was impacted with, well, poop. I isolated the Delaware and fed it mineral oil in bread until the mineral oil softened the poop. She was fine, put her back with the others. Next day, she is again crying, squatting and trying to poop. I again isolated her, fed her mineral oil. She has been so so. I give her outside grass, which I cut very small, and creamed corn. She has moderate hard poop. No other chick is doing this and there are 7 different breeds. Can anyone give some advise. My email is [email protected] for a cure. thanks all.
