I was recently forced to put one of my elderly silkie hens down due to symptoms that lead us to suspect waterbelly. Her lower abdomen was so swollen it was rock hard and she couldn't walk properly. Seeing how painful it was we decided to put her down. I made the decision to open her to see if my guess was correct on the problem. I've read about cases of people trying to drain this condition but after what I found I'm glad I didn't try as it clearly would have just caused the bird more discomfort. I am curious if anyone else has seen this before? I've only found cases where it's one solid bubble not a bunch of small ones
