Very thick egg membrane. Sign of deficiency?

I'm absolutly dumbfounded by the amount of advice just to peel an egg! Thanks so much to you all. At least I know they're healthy and not missing any vital nutrient. Thanks again.

Well, I am just lost. Looking for answers for this issue.....I cracked a fresh egg to fry & the egg shell chipped away but the membrane stayed intact. I had to actually pinch the membrane & rip it open. Never dealt with that before. And lately I have found a cpl of soft shell eggs. I feed my girls plenty of oyster shell with their layer food to harden the shells. I did just introduce 2 new hens into the flock a cpl wks ago & Im almost certain its one of them doing this. Problem figuring it out when 3 of the hens lay the same color eggs..lol. Has anyone peeled a shell off of an uncooked egg without busting the membrane & if so, what causes this & is the egg still safe to eat? Thank you so much!
