I know that Spork was saved and I am soooo happy about that. I had to have one of my labs put down as being vicious because, he was loose and running true, and kids teens, were chasing him and hitting him with sticks and screaming! Then here comes the Animal control with what? a long pole and he corners Red and red did show his teeth and growl but he did not bite anybody and was trying to get away and they were surrounding him. lt is a dogs or other animals nature to protect themselves at all cost they cant debate, cant call the law alls they can do is fight their way out of a situation and if takes biting to get the message across they will go the distance. Just my thought and it makes me sick everytime I hear a story like that. Another dog Pitbull mix was minding his own bussiness in his own back yard when somebody broke in and robbed my sons friends parents, they were gone at the time and came home while the guy was still in the house he took out through the back door and the dog grabbed the guy by the leg as he was climbing the fence to get away (with stolen items)and bit the theifs leg pretty bad. I say good dog, but the law said she was vicious and had to be put down AND the other Kicker was the thief sued the dog owner and won the case!! Go figure! This makes no sense to me!
I know both of these cases are not similiar to Sporks but from what I understand that Spork was being held, no way to escape, his only resort to make the threat stop was to bite, makes perfect Doggy sense to me!
Just one more thing, I saw this on the Animal Planet channel, If a bear attacts a person in a forest because it percieves people as a threat it was only doing what came natural and the bear was left to go on its merry way, Why is that considered a natural behavior, but if a dog protects its self its vicious??? I just don't get it! Sandy
