How much vinegar should one use to treat the fresh water?

Different schools of thought on using ACV, for sure. Those that do use it typically say 2 tablespoons per gallon I believe.

Same here. No ACV = no slime for me, which means no need to clean the waterer at all (I also don't get algae growth).

I don't understand the vinegar thing either. Put an egg in vinegar and see what happens. So what is vinegar in the water doing to your hens' bones? And given a choice, will they even drink it?

What are you using the vinegar for?
It does make water slimy. You are best with fresh water.
