Errrrr.... I'm not a fan of toffee either... but from the recipe Debi posted, thats what it is I suppose, though I wouldn't have guessed.. Baking soda is added to the process to make it fluffen up.
The inside looks like honey-comb, full of air.. and it tastes honey-ish to me. You know those candies, Whoppers? It's kind of like the inside of those.. the way its fluffy/crunchy, and then just melts in your mouth. Thats my favorite part.. the melting. Then covered with yummy chocolate.
Can't believe you've never seen them! When we visited Oz.. they were all over the place. Just look for the purple wrapper!
They smell like Violets?
