Violet's only companion died today - and it's freezing

I do believe it's true that Violet was lonely. Now she's not lonely, but a little confused!

Tilly is the red one.

Could getting along early on be a honeymoon period? I know it's hard to tell.

If chickens aren't going to get on then you know about it when they are first introduced - trust me, I know!

The fact that you only have two girls means that there's no real 'pecking order' to be established, because there's not a lot of competition. You may find that one of the two becomes more dominant over the other, and gets to eat first, choose the best roost etc. but if they're getting along now then there's no reason to think that anything will change. If there was going to be any major squabbling, fighting, pecking etc. then it would already have happened.

Violet is lucky to have someone who cares so much about her, and Tilly has obviously found herself a good home - here's hoping they both have a long and happy life with you

After spending some time on this site, I've realized you can get remarkably attached to someone else's chickens, even when you will never meet them in person :)

Sending continued good thoughts to violet and her new friend!
