This is my duck thread. :). I currently have 12 ducks. I would like to downsize, so I will be getting rid of 5 of them. :(. I have 5 Black Magpie ducks, 5 Saxony ducks and 2 White Call ducks. :love. The saxonies are the ones I will be getting rid of in the Spring. Then I will be able to focus on conserving the Magpies!!!!!

Here are some pictures. :). Just a few. ;)

Above are the very first ducklings I have ever had! 8 black and white Magpie ducklings. :love They were Hatched on March 22nd. Claude Duckussy, Oliver Twist, and Blackberry were the boys, (blackberry was supposed to be a girl) and the girls were: Emily and Alice, Diamond and Duddles, and Blossom. ( it was supposed to be blackberry and blossom).
When they were a few months old, something hot blackberry, Diamond and Oliver. :hitI got them at Johnsons Waterfowl. www.johnsonswaterfowl.com

They're such cuties! The "dancin' Emily" pic cracked me up!! I'd love to have a magpie duck one day they are very pretty. Except I am not sure my parents would be keen on me bringing home another duck :lau

I also hatched out 2 White Call ducks in August! I started out with 12 eggs but 9 were infertile. The other 3 made it to lockdown and 2 hatched with a little help! Their names are Marshmallow and Daffy, and the got to go into the Kiddie Barn at the county fair! Daffy also made it into the 2018 BYC Other Poultry Calendar this year with one of the below pictures. :)

A couple of months ago ( July) one of my broody's hatched out 5 duck eggs.

Anyway, I ended up giving 2 of them to our duck-loving neighbor. She had some other ducks at the time. Well, somehow she was down to just 2 ducks this fall. The ones that I gave her. :)
One night in October, she got home from work and saw a fox carrying of her 2 ducks. :hit. One of her ducks came running to her, but the other one was lying on his back, kicking his legs, and bleeding. They brought her in the house but she passed quickly. :(. The other one was in shock and only had a few cuts, but wouldn't eat or drink. She messaged me to see if I had any extra ducks she could have. I gave her one of my saxonies. Her magpie healed up and Greta and Daisy have become fast friends. :) :hugs
