If you want to drive down to Franklin (city, not county!) on Sunday August 5th there will be a chicken swap from 1-5 in front of the Tractor Supply on HWY 58. We are trying a Sunday afternoon swap this month to see how it will go. I know there will be at least one person there for sure with silkies, her name is Valerie and she usually has a sign up that reads Serenity Silkies, her birds are show quality and worth every penny (I got mine from her). There has been a couple more guys there with white silkies, pet quality and some have straight red combs. And I've seen another guy come in with pet colored silkies. Can't remember how many showed up with them last swap but it was at least 4 I think.

If I had any extra I'd be more than happy to help you out since I'm not too far from you but after a skunk issue I'm down to just 3 little fluff balls.

Yes I have six 10 week olds and one 43 week old partridge silkie.

I'm in King George too, Dahlgren area, by the base.

Here are some pics of the babies. I think the black one and one of the golden colored silkies are pullets, I believe the rest are cockerels. Time will tell.

I've got Iowa Blue and Sumatra chickens here in Buckingham, VA. (If you don't know where Buckingham is don't feel bad. It's south of Charlottesville, north of Appomattox and filled mostly with trees.) I'm looking for a pair or trio of Iowa Blue and Sumatra's. My birds are all related at the moment and I need new genetics. If anyone has some they would be willing to part with let me know.

I'm also a large animal veterinarian, think James Herriot. I'll come to the farm and treat anything except dogs and cats. I'm happy to see chickens, but I'm usually on the road so if you have a sick bird please don't message or email me, call the office at 757-277-2637

i'm thinking a barn call might be a bit pricey. LOL but i might be willing to trade cochin or dorking chicks/eggs for some teeth floating on my mini. 8)

or some AWESOME dual purpose EE's too. 8)

I spoke with the hubby,if you are available SUnday evening we may be able to stop by. I know you said after church so just let me know what time in the evening works for you. I am very interested in the white one if it is for sell...may take all of them If sunday doesnt work, I can do Saturday anytime also. Just let me know what day and time works for you!

Unfortunatley I have no clue where Franklin city is...lol. Or 58, but hopefully I have found some in my area. Thanks for the help though...sorry about your little fluff balls. I know how you feel...got two of my favorite girls taken by a predator also..still not sure what it was. I have worked my butt off now and although it isnt pretty, my pin is finally predator proof...whatever works!
