Hello Virginia!
I'm in Arlington- where we can't even have backyard chickens yet! I'm involved with a group called The Arlington Egg Project that is working to have the county ordinances modified to allow a limited number of backyard hens. Wish us luck!

I was born in Arlington but back then I bet you could have chickens! Well, Charlottesville succeeded in allowing chickens. I really hope you succeed! We've always had to live far out (which costs in other ways) to have animals. Our girls raise miniture dairy goats in 4H Club, and I raise chickens. We're retired Army and whenever we had to live on base I really missed chickens!

Just saw a posting on Craigslist for a swap in Charlottesville at the Tractor supply Saturday March 10th from 8-2.

I went to that last year and had fun, bought some Seramas! Maybe I'll get to go this year too. If I go I'll wear a "BYC" sticker!
