I feel the same way. Are they ever going to lay a egg. Just one! I dont care who it is! just lay that first egg and hopefully the others will follow. My Orpington is 28 wks and . My other 5 are 25 wks and nothing from any of them. I know they are close!

Its a great feeling isn't it? 5 out of my 9 girls are laying. Within one week we have gotten 25 eggs! Before u know it, you will have more. Every egg I get is still so exciting!

Here are my pics:

Saturday was first egg ever!!! Sunday another chicken layed. The first laying chicken layed again today, she skipped Sunday and her egg is bigger than 1st. Have you cooked any yet? I hope to by the end of the week. I have 3 eggs right now!!!

Those eggs look great. Yes we cooked our first eggs the next day. So yummy. I am keeping an egg count for a year to see if they are earning their keep. Ha ha so far I'm up to 33 eggs. Getting about 5 a day right now.

Although your red sex links haven't started yet, just know that once they start laying they do not stop. I have a sex link who in 4 months has laid an egg everyday! The birds are workhorses, and they should start producing soon! Good luck!

The wait is over!! Got 3 eggs not sure when they were laid because I was out of town for 2 weeks.They are small but I am so happy.

Same boat here! My two larger banthams seem so close...Their wattles and face are turning bright red for the past few weeks...As for my 2 silkies...who knows. I'll be surprised with them!
I'll be sending laying egg mojo all over BYC!!! haha The black one is a mutt, the other is a Turken Both 25 weeks old.
