Trial and error, watch for cues. Animals, birds, etc, will cue if they are stressed. At first it might be hard, then again maybe not. Just like ourselves each have their own personality. Our rabbit was always in charge. He'd cue us if & when he wanted to hop,or where to go.Some days lazy butt didn't want to do anything. So we didn't force him. Just try it & see what happens

Well I guess try the walk 1st & see what happens. Do things in stages, just my opinion
