Omg top middle photo is adorable! Looks like chipmunk cheeks lol5 weeks of having ducks now. These babies are so fun and getting so big. Still trying to figure out boy/girl. I’m fairly certain the 3 small ones are girls but the white ones are throwing me for a loop (I keep listening for quacks or a drake feather starting and I’m starting to think they might be boys)
ETA: yes the water is dirty, I have found they mess it up within 2 hours![]()

Not necessarily so. I have 2 female mallards that I had purchased from TSC. One had 1 stripe the other had two on her eyes. I had the hardest time trying to figure out what the other one was because I was told mallards only have 1 stripe. The best way to tell if it is in fact a mallard. Look to see see if they are missing their back toe. If it is... It IS A MALLARD. They clip their back toes off for some reason. It has to do with the wildlife management or something. It helps the identify and know if it was born in the wild or not.Mallards have just one stripe on their face View attachment 2554944
While Rouens usually have two stripes on their face. I can't upload the rouen pic for some reason, sorry.
Both of mine were in fact missing a back toe. This is how I knew they were mallards as baby ducklings. If they have both back toes....they are Rouens. Not necessarily so. Can you post any pics of them as babies? My TSC does not hind toe pinion their mallards. I'm familiar with pinioning because I keep wild ducks. Not necessarily so.
