My Dad took one look at the cost of catering and offered us girls a lump sum and a ladder to elope. Then he remembered my ... ummm ... lack of coordination ... and said that, for me, he'd make a minor exception. If I gave him a week's notice, he'd build me a staircase.

My mama will be my cater and some other people...about 20 pies should do it. I can always peel potatoes.

THAT's what fruitcake is supposed to taste like! Maybe we're used to the rock-hard stuff here becasue everyone's afraid to try it, so by the time they get around to cutting it, it's rock-hard-stale. It's a self perpetuating myth!
