Wanting to get ducks, which breed?!

Kaufmann's Backyard Farm :

Cayugas are the quietest ducks I have ever seen. They don't really quack, it is a different sound even. They are very pretty in the sunshine too with all the colors in their feathers.

As of now these are the top ducks im considering; Cayugas, saxonies, appleyards, Rouen's, runners​

cayugas! lol cayuga are beautiful and quiet and nice,saxonies are nice looking and are good meat ducks and lay white shelled eggs,appleyards are very good meat birds and are almost as handsome as the cayugas,rouens are great meat birds and look exactlylike the common mallard and are fat lol love that,runners are more skittish than friendly but can very tame ang people say they can outproduce any chicken(iread). cayugas

do you happen to know the personalities of saxonies and appleyards???​

well runners are very flighty in general (not all of them but in GENERAL), the rouens arent as loud as my pekins they scream all the time at me! (the pekins i mean). I wanted runners so bad cause I thought the chocolates were so pretty and I got some and then I changed my mind, they are definately not the cuddling type. My loudest duck is a swedish hen. I would say DEFINATELY DONT get call if you want quiet ducks because the are notoriously loud. I think as far as quiet goes, you might be looking for scovies, I know in the other thread you said they werent an option because your mom doesnt like them, you could try to sell her on them though, show her lots of pretty girl pictures from the website here, put up a thread asking people for pictures of their scovies to show your mom they will be happy to show off! There are few mallard derived breeds that are quiet, even my male pekin is loud! However if you are looking for personality as much as quiet then I would say that in my experience.... the runners were pretty quiet and fun to watch from a far but not the cuddling type, they RAN, just like their names suggest, their are people here who have runner that are sweet and kind and live in their houses even, but mine were not like that, they were hatchery stock and not exactly people birds. I love all my duckies! But I dont know what to tell you about a quiet people loving duck breed, I see several good suggestions however I would try to sell your mom on the scovies.

well apple yards are are good if you treat them with love and cuddle them alot and saxonies are also the same any way if u raise a duck right itll turn out right except runners they are more likely to run
