***Warning***Very graphic Pictures.

I've seen enough of it to know dog damage. Yes it is defiantly a dog--it just "played" with the birds.

Do you know if a Schnauzer could do this type of thing?

Yes I lived with a schnauzer fot years that if given the chance the chickens looked just like yours!!

He had a good run too. I wanted to murder his dog for a second, but let myself cool down, I told him I would take some pictures of the damage of the chickens, and post it on that chicken website to see if my chicken buddies could give us an answer. It was a chain link run, and the dog must have dug under it, but we are going to get some cinder blocks for it or some bricks, or maybe even some big and small rocks.

I think dog also because I thought I read somewhere on BYC that Oposoms eat the heads of chickens. Maybe I am wrong?

Yeah I heard that too. He said the dog is the first thing to go, after I showed him the responses we were getting.

Such a bummer. We have a Schnauzer and he is deathly afraid of our chickens! When the girls were chicks they let him know who was boss by pecking him in the face a few times. Now he stands clear of them. When they are crowded on the porch and he wants in, he doesn't dare get on the porch without my supervision, so he barks to call me to the door so he can safely come inside. LOL.

Maybe your neighbor could keep the dog but start with chicks? I don't know if now that he has tasted the chicken blood he is ruined or ? I have heard that once a dog kills like that, they will do it again but who knows. Anyone have any idea?

I agree that it looks like a dog did it. Sorry for your loss. They were nice looking birds.
I just lost 2 roosters to the neighbors small dog today. It also got my niece's cat pretty bad.

Well, The rooster died today. He was doing okay last night, except for the fact that the skin and feathers on his back were ripped off, he was walking, and looking around the room we had for him. Well, me and him will work on his coop here pretty soon, and hopefully get more chickens in there after the dog is gone.
