Was I Duped? Barred Rock Roos

Congrats on getting these swapped for pullets! (They look like pullets to me, anway) My very-much-female pullets have grown curved fat tail feathers before. The barring on pullets has more black in it, as the males get more of the gene for white.

Just wanted to chime in that in my study of the Dominique chicken, who heavily contributed to the Barred Rock, the sexes do have different markings at hatch in certain bloodlines anyway. There is some possibility that your seller thought they could tell who was who, and failed at it.

It looks like you have a wonderful yard for chickens, may you enjoy them for many years to come!

Unfortunately those are both Roos and not Barred Rocks. Likely some sort of BR cross.
I think they are crosses too, I have some that look extremely similar to this and they are New Hampshire/Barred Rock crosses. Maybe these are the same, or maybe instead with a Rhode Island Red
