Was sold this bird as a guaranteed hen, it just crowed?!

At five months you'd expect a bit more visible male characteristics. Though hens can crow, it's usually a bit garbled and happen in older birds. Contact the seller and tell him/her your bird crowed and want a replacement that doesn't crow. ;)
 
Yeah, it looks to be like a very late bloomer as I am seeing very small make specific feathering on the saddle feathers. Young hens can crow but it’s very rare and only really happens if she has some sort of reproductive issue. I have a year old hen that has large spurs, crows every morning, and lays one egg a week.
