Was this a bad deal?

I paid $4.00 a piece for mutts. They were about 4 mths. old and I thought that was fair for chicks that old. Laying hens were $8.00 a piece. I have heard that the price is cheaper in the Winter, I'm sure prices vary around the country also. I knew I was getting healthy chicks, so I was happy with price.

Sounds like a great price to me. A couple years ago I paid $25 for 1 Purebred Easter Egger.

Imp- and $10 each for a BRxWR, and a RIR, about 6 months old.
