Washington Potluck Sign-up for the Washington Party

BTW I'm making garlic smashed red potatoes, crescent rolls, and dill-stuffed belgian endive for tomorrow

Now I'm quoting myself- how's that for narcissism?

The Stuffed Belgian Endive was a hit, very good. So it's on the list for February, along with the Raspberry Refrigerator Cake.

Russ- I'll get recipes to you soon Weaveagarden.

Sounds deeeelish! Can't wait for the recipes. Is the endive cooked, or fresh?

Ok. I just put a reminder on my Outlook Calendar for the 4th to send you a check and get the recipe to Weavegarden.

I'm gonna email a link to this thread to my wife and talk about what to bring. My first thought is some of my raccoon chili. I'm not sure I got any coon left in the freezer but I could always set the trap out for a fresh one. If that don't work, I know I still have some deer left. I can bring the chili in a crockpot and then we just have to plug it in to stay warm.

If raccoon is a little too adventurous for everybody just let me know. I don't mind taking it home and eating it myself but I'd like to bring somethat that most will eat so there is plenty for everyone. Btw, coon is actually really good. Sort of on the sweet side maybe but most can't tell it from beef. The wife might have some other ideas too.

Oh, I just thought of something and I hope this isn't off topic but if the money starts coming in and it looks like there will be some left over for paper plates, bowls, cups and such as well as plastic eating utensils, you might want to just give a little thought to maybe buying a bunch of Shasta sodas in the various varieties. I can get a 12-Pack of Shasta at the Commissary for $2. When I have hosted church picnics or Family Camps, that's what I've done. Just a thought.

God Bless,

I am thinking I will bring a homemade cookie assortment.

Oatmeal/Oatmeal Choc Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookies

and....

maybe a large batch of Spahgetti Salad? It's a cold salad with spag noodles....

Thank you everyone for the offerings for the potluck. Please everyone: If you find that later you need to change what you are bringing to the party, please just post the change. I will then note the change on the second posting of this thread. It already sounds like the food is going to be fun and very different for me at least. Thank you all again, for posting your ideas for the food here. Christina
