RobJ- the roo in the picture is a silver leghorn.
To see the Russian Orloff, do a search for breeds on BYC and click on "images" to see them. His were already in bed when we went, and it was to dark for a photo where they were bed down. They look similar to speckled sussex in color, but with beards and sideburns. He sells hatching eggs $20 per dozen if you drive there.
Erhart Weihs (pronounced "wise") is pretty close to Flaming Geyser State park. If you travel this way, be sure to give us a holler- we're 15-20 minutes from his place and would meet up!
We lived in Tumwater for 3 years - up above the falls. I really, really miss the Olympia Co-Op! The place up here they call a "co-op"- PCC Natural markets, is a joke of a "co-op", IMHO. I've been wishing we could stock up on a few of our favorite bargains there- bulk ACV & Raw agave, and some dried soup blends that make rushed dinners and camping trips much easier. When we drive to Oregon, we always stop and stock up on our way back.
