Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Okay i should have money on my paypal monday or tuesday (i'm selling something on e-bay and it's about to end so should get paid soon). Anyone have eggs they are willing to ship to me for the cost of shipping? I am looking for green to blue eggs or rainbow eggs. if you have white and brown eggs that is great too. My mom has notified me that she either wants to borrow my incubator or wants me to hatch her eggs for her. Yes she wants chickens now.

I know flat rate is like $16, I am hoping to get about 2 dozen eggs if possible. Please PM if ya have green eggs or something else. let me know price.
i want to fill my incubator as full as possible. I think my failure to hatch anything comes from incubating 3 eggs at a time. setting myself up for failure with that small of an amount.

Hey Sweetlilbaby, can you tell me how much it costs to sell on ebay? I have no clue on how to do that, although I have bought items on ebay.

Totalcolor you are not helping!

You can do zoned flat rate boxes much cheaper when shipping locally~ There are two sizes. I received a large priority box from Sudsy Chick (DawnG). I'm not sure where she lives exactly, somewhere nearby Seattle, and It was less than $7 to ship.

eta a link: here are the boxes: https://store.usps.com/store/browse...ailingShippingSupplies:subcatMSS_RegionalRate

Many post offices don't have these boxes but they will deliver them to the shipper for free. It takes a week or so to get them delivered. Postage can be printed online.

E-bay takes a percentage of what the item sells for. How much they take depends on what it sells for. I've been selling things on there for the past month. I made enough to buy a $250 kennel, plus a $50 sun shade for it, and now will have enough to pay shipping for eggs. All I need to pay someone shipping on eggs is their e-mail that they use for paypal. I can gift the money to them.
I love e-bay, I try shipping everything flat rate because it comes with a tracking # and i pay for shipping online then send it from my front door. no gas needed to do that

I've been getting 4 eggs a day more often than not lately! (from 4 laying hens: white leghorn, red sex link, black sex link, buff orpington). The Rhode island red is molting but was a great layer before that, so I could get 5 some day soon! Black Jersey Giant and BCM are "sort of" squatting for me. They consider it at least and let me cuddle them. I'm sure they'll be laying soon. The white araucana shows no signs of laying.
My three pullets that just began laying, never squatted for me before laying but I figured that is just because I have at least 3 mature roosters! Do you guys have roos?

I would give you eggs for just the price of shipping. At this moment the only blue and greens I am getting are from my two pullets that just began laying this past week. My one other EE has almost quit laying all together, but when she does they are very deformed eggs. I have Brown leghorns, Exchequer Leghorns and Blue Andalusians that all lay white eggs. Barred Rocks, RIRs, Delaware, some mixed breeds, and some bantom Cochins. There are some others but can't remember right this moment. Just PM me and let me know if you want my eggs.
Quote: I never even thought about selling things on Ebay. I have a bunch of stuff I have been trying to sell on CL but a lot of people on there are so flaky. Maybe I will try Ebay. Thanks for the idea guys.

This is what I just worked on...supemental lighting for the chicken run too, since that's where the food and water are :D

I am interested, but going to discuss the breeds with my mom as well before saying 100% for sure. Plus I have to wait til the guy that wins on e-bay pays me.
I only want large eggs. What breed of rooster is with your hens?
I currently have a leghorn RIR mix (she's so cute), a breed that i cant remember that is big fat black and gold colored, then cochin mix's. The cochins lay to small of eggs for us and go broody way to often.
I would like some white egg layers though I only get one white egg from Momma (the leghorn/RIR) I really wanted a green egg layer. Not sure even why i want one. It's almost become an obsession for me though. Just like my chickens all having to look different from each other. If two look alike i send one to my mom. She even thinks i'm crazy how obsessive i've become. But i name them and spend at least an hour a day no matter the weather visiting them. when they are chicks i move out of my room leaving my husband in there and go wait by the incubator til they hatch and spend several nights with them to make sure that they do not get to cold. I have insomnia already mix that with the excitement of chicks or eggs hatching.....

are they solar or electric? I put solar xmas lights in my coop during the winter and they really haven't done much until now. They stay on a couple of hours at sundown now. It seems like it's helping!
