Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi all, my wife and I are just getting started raising chickens, we have 10 Gold Stars that are just over 3 weeks old.
We are in Kitsap County, WA, wondering when to put them outside. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Welcome from another Kitsap person. Over in Poulsbo. Welcome. I will let some of the more experienced people answer your question but I think it is way too early in age.

Oh cont-rare, Bribery is the BEST way to win a cockerel's heart. When I got Pig Pen at 16 weeks, he was scared of me and did not trust me. I would sit on the deck(so lower to his level) and toss raisins out to all the chickens, he always stayed the furthest away. Over the course of 3 weeks doing this DAILY, he finally took a raisin from my fingers. He wont eat out of my hand, but will pick something from my fingers. He is now the first one to greet me when I go outside, especially if I have the raisin tub.

Turtle, love Rooster. He looks mottled to me, I think it's called roaning in dogs- very attractive. He looks happy to have his blanket.

australian cattle dogs have Red and blue. Rooster looks to be a red. If the dog is mostly dark/gray it's considered a blue. If it's mostly roan/red they consider it a red. People argue because the blues have red that they are all red and so on. That is why instead of calling it a red heeler or blue heeler i stick with it's actual name Australian cattle dog.

Speaking of My oscar is half Australian cattle dog. His father was a pure ACD his mother was a rottie/wiener dog. :) He's only got a small patch of blue ticking on his chest the rest is rottie colors but the cattle dog build and size

AND I WOKE UP TO THIS!!!!

My morning entertainment:

This little guy/gal was on a mission! This was the last pip I got this morning at about 6:30am and he/she was out by 6:44am!!!

And I got to watch him/her hatch out to this:

It was flopping around so strangelike I couldn't walk away, I thought for a minute that it only had one leg!!! But it has two... just very wobbly.

I wanted to call in sick today, but I have to work. I will be taking two lunches today though! Just to see what other eggs hatch...

And I realized I forgot to pull the thermometer out of the way when I put em in lockdown. The first chick has since flipped it over so I hope the temp stays stable.

How long do you leave the incubator going for? Today is day 21 but if I only have three hatch, how long do I wait to see about the rest?
