Free Chicken Coop (6th Ave Tacoma)

Very large, very heavy chicken coop. This will almost certainly need to be moved with a flat bed truck. We can help load, but we cannot deliver. We built this coop ourselves, it's nothing fancy, but it worked very well for our 6 chickens and could easily handle more. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to come see it. Thanks!

I had actually called this guy befopre we bought the other shed and moved it. it's in his back yard, and the yard is "wet" so you might get a truck stuck in it. He's a nice guy, but you might need to prepare to slide/drag the shed on it's side across plywood to get it out of the yard....

The Bator holds 41 eggs with the egg turner. I am getting 12 Brabanters from Hallerlake and 12 Black Sex Link from VF so we still have room for 17 more. We could easily set eggs for you. This will be our first ever go round so I cant guarantee we will do everything 100% but we will try our best. We are doing it as a extra credit project for my 9 year olds class. We plan on candling on day 7, 14 and 18 so we can note changes.

If I had room for more I would ask you to add some for me. As of now 5 is 2 more than I had planned. And....DH doesn't know about the 2 additional babies yet.

Will you post pictures of the candling process? I've not seen it done so would like to learn more.

I'm defiantly going to try that. I like the climbing idea. It get's crazy around here in spring too both DD's have something going with either school or sports which is fine with me as long as their smiling, running and off the couch. I need to kick the chicken tillers out o the garden too. We've got clay soil so we're holding alot of water so planting is going to have to wait a bit. That's another reason the raised beds will work out good. I'll keep my eyes open for linoleum for ya how big of a piece are you guys lookin for?

Hi Rob, we need a 10 foot long piece at least 6 foot wide, 8 would be perfect, but 6 would cover everything except the space under the "storage bin cabinet"

We have rocks, rocks, and more rocks in Maple Valley. I am still mourning my Kent & Auburn valley gardens- the soil was awesome there (sniffle)

Yep and in case you didn't see my other post calibrate your thermometer and hygrometer. There is a ton of info in the learning forums here on BYC. That was my BIG mistake.
.....the trick to the info on how to make incubators, even with the instructions on the forum, is having a DH (or DW) smart enough to understand said instructuons.

Whew, thank goodness SOMEONE understood that stuff- I'm just the chef & cookie baker!

Yes I can post pics as we go. It will be fun for all of us here. Hopefully we can get a good hatch. Well let me know if you change your mind about chicks because we are planning on getting rid of these ones. As of right now we have 14 and were only suppose to have 6 and my husband STILL wants more

That's funny. They do sound a lot a like. We had a family reunion when DD Kayla was 5 she was carrying around two garter snakes forever it seemed like every time she passed by she was holding a snake. The summer before last they had the reunion in Oklahoma so we had to give the girls the if you see a snake Run Don't pick it up speech.
Yikes- I think you just brought back my nightmares! I was once stuck in mud- that kind that's like quicksand- on the banks of a creek that was full of water moccasins in Tulsa. I've never quite been the same since......

2 major improvements over Oklahoma here

1.) no chiggers
2.) no poisonous snakes on this side of mountains
