Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

OK I have the CLOWN CAR PACKED. And to give a clue what I mean. In my Saturn I have an 8' folding table, 2 cat carriers, 1 med dog crate, 1 med packer tote, 1 hog, 1 pigglett, 2 roosters, 1 hen, 48 chicks, one egg turner, 3 bell hangers and DW's big folding chair. In the morning Quincy will go in the back seat. and then there is the crock pot filled with whatever roadkill I find tonight and on the way to Monroe.

I REALLY wish this one little pig wasn't having to stay home alone!!!! Anybody?? Tomorrow $50.

And meet pigglett. Made for CL's mom.

I'm thinking i should put a piggyback plant in mine.

I asked this before but it got lost in the muddle of posts a couple days ago. Lucy is now squatting for me again, comb getting redder, and she's spending more time away from her babies (just not covering them near as much). For a treat she'll flat out plow them down, although she still talks to them and calls them for treats and food she finds. I know she's still taking care of them and sleeping with them under her though. She was broody for 4 weeks and has had the chicks for 5 weeks tomorrow, although the youngest one (given later) is only 4.5 weeks. How long until Lucy abandons caring for them and goes back to laying eggs? Any chance I'm going to need to get a heat lamp for the coop to make sure they stay warm enough if she stops caring for them? Thanks!

My scalp and hair have been particularly dry this season. I'm about to coconut oil up my scalp and hair and wrap my head in saran wrap for the night. Wish me luck not suffocating myself with the saran wrap while I sleep!

Back in Singapore, the Indian ladies would put coconut oil all over their head and hair. Very greasy, but healthy head of hair.
However I sis head from DR Oz that brittle and dry hair can be caused by a hormone imbalance. I prefer treatment from the inside out. But thats just me.

My chickens were set "free" this morning. they loved being out of their coop/run for the first time since November. They wondered all over the place scratching around and finding the early bugs. Had to heard Whiski and few of the hens back in this evening but most knew to go back to coop for bedtime. the ones that didn't were my originals that were free range last year and roosted in my trees. spooked them away from the trees and herded them into the coop. Once they were headed in the right direction, they followed each other in. I have one hen that is most certainly gonna be a momma this year. She was the only one that never left the run and stayed on her nest all day. I have 2 other nests that my hens are starting to set on. One has 13 eggs and the other has 10/ Lets hope they glue their bottoms to them soon. I don't want all the babies that I had last year. I might sell my babies to the local feed store so she can do a chick day to help her new business thrive.

I've had a few quit caring for them at 6 weeks. I prefer to have the chicks in with the silkies because the rooster will let them warm under him during the day, and they can sleep under any of the silkies at night.

for me to get there by 9 I will have to get up at 8:30
What!
He has to let the coffee cool off a little before he drinks it.
Then start the car and let it warm up for about 20 mins or so.
Then he can just take his time and cruse on over and still be early.

I'm 2hrs away but I won't hold it against him. Really I won't! REALLY i won't!
