Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Oh! I finally finally found one of my girls dust bathing in the dust bath I made for them in the run!! Guess it was too wet everywhere else so they finally used it. Now they're all using it all the time, yay!

Checking in from Clarkston [Eastern Wa. across the river from Lewiston, Idaho.]

With all this talk about trains, makes me wonder again who owns the tracks next to my house and along the Orting-Kapowsin Highway. When we first moved here, their was modern trains that would go by maybe two to three times a month. They'd leave sections on the track sometimes.

The last two years, we've only seen the old engines going by. I love the whistles. They make the dogs howl. Last year they were coming by about every other Saturday during the summer. This year I saw two in the spring and that was it other than them coming and cutting trees. I miss them.

Well, got more done than I thought I would, although the rose repotting was done under scuba conditions. I managed to get a dust bath (minus the DE, which has disappeared) in with the Hamburgs, and everybody but the younger BLRWs got oatmeal (they got velvet grass I weeded out of the front steps). "Everybody" included Baaachus, who is of the opinion that if the chickens get it, he also deserves some. He was pegged out long enough to tie himself in knots three times, and only asked to get put under cover when I was soaked to the skin.

I suppose I should resume my search for $50 or so worth of cathedral beads and turbines which have flat vanished from my bead drawers. That or make a pair of labradorite earrings I've got promised to an old AOL gardening acquaintance.

WOW I guess last night I must have been a really bad boy. See I didn't know it possible but I got locked out of FB. AND everything I posted on is GONE !!!
First let me say that I really hope those are not YOUR NAILS you're showing off. Nice job though.
2nd. If you posted anything concerning a negative bent about bo, that is the norm these days. FB apparently is in bo's pocket.
3rd. you were hacked.

Looks as if it's Tacoma Rail, as I sort of suspected; they bought up a lot of Chehalis Western and other Weyerhaeuser lines and mostly use them as deadhead sections. I found this pdf about a tourist line to the mountain which sounds pretty cool.

I've never driven, so trains are my friend; I used to take it between Seattle and Olympia every other weekend, when I was working up there, and use the Cascades to do day trips to Seattle and Portland both. We've done the Chehalis Steam train thing, but also taken the Coast Starlight all the way to LA (I've also taken it from Santa Barbara, and the whole family to the Bay Area) the Sunset Limited and the KATY to Temple Texas, and the Empire Builder to Whitefish Montana; some day we want to take the Empire Builder to Havre, rent an RV, and do Montana and Yellowstone, then take the Empire Builder home again.

Our play house..Wouldn't this be a cute coop? If only the chickens would go down the slide.

Hey SL! I saw a few posts back you were saying you didn't know who would buy the swing? I was looking for a used swing like this awhile back (in Iowa) and they sold like hot cakes out there! I don't see why it would be different here? That is a very nice swing set.

BUT! I totally see it as a coop, lol!
