Ah come on...there has to be more quilter's & chicken folk out there than this...which so far today is me...................and Cheri.... where is everybody ?
Oh my gosh CL that is pretty and wow a lot of work went into that baby. I'm new at quilting and just want to do it all, my problem my girlfriend said is I'm going for some of the hardest ones. She keeps telling me there is time to do them.

Thank you! I am so excited about my chicks! I got them Saturday. One Rhode Island Red, One Buff Orpington, One Ameracuana, and one Barred Rock. I might be getting a few more too, we just have to wait and see.

I highly recommend rug hooking as you don't have to quilt it. I tend to do quilt top and blocks.

I'm a quilter!  Have you tried primitive rug hooking with wool?  You might like that too!  You can buy wool skirts at thrift stores and cut the into strip to hooking into special linen.

Oh by the way I am new to the group and I just got baby chicks last weekend, I live north of Seattle.

Welcome to the group, your going to love your chicks. What kind did you get.
I'd love to see a picture too, I'm a craftaholic, I'll try anything once.

Thanks all - I ordered it last night online from Jefferspet.com ... I should be using this vaccine correct? The other chickens I have were all vaccinated when I bought them. These are the first I've hatched on my own so I just assumed I needed to vaccinated them. Thanks!

I never vaccinate and when i order chicks I request they don't vaccinate them. But that is just my preference.

We have had Muskovies laying for several weeks now, and actually have 2 hens setting on what looks to be 15+ eggs each.
These are my neighbors birds, actually not my own.
I have 2 doz of his eggs in my incubator for 3 weeks now...all fertile.
Maybe you have males & no hens ?

Not my first year owning them. 2 of the females hatched out ducklings last year. so it's impossible for them to have laid last year and be males. I just dont get why mine are so late to lay eggs.

I wonder if my muscovies are still suffering from the attack last month. Not sure what happened exactly but something ripped one of them from the coop. she lived and is healing up great. I don't know what if anything was done to the others that remained in the coop because they don't exactly like me to checking between each feather and stuff.
