Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hey Washingtonians - I have chicks hatching this weekend and this is the first time we've done this... I need to vaccinate them for Marek's Disease and am having a hard time finding a place to buy this... any suggestions? I live in Maple Valley (Western WA). Thanks!!

and yes, I know I should have known/dealt with this already... my bad

I JUST purchased the vaccine literally like 20 minutes ago from Jeffers online. I'm going to buy the needles at Rite Aid in Enumclaw. Mine should be here Friday for a Monday or Tuesday vaccination date. All my staggered hatches are supposed to be finished then so I'll vaccinate them all at that time, while they're still in the incubator, before I move them to the brooder. If I was vaccinating this weekend I'd share what's left with you since we only live a few minutes apart!! Dangit!

On a side note, Jeffers will ship overnight for $18 or two-day for $12. Not bad considering RandallBurkey was going to charge almost $100 for the vaccine and shipping. I paid $32 total (after shipping, taxes, etc) through Jeffers and that was for 2 day air. You could order today and get it by this weekend. Pick up your needles at any local drug store.

On another side note, I called all over the Maple Valley/Enumclaw/Buckley/Bonney Lake, etc area looking for ANYONE that sold the vaccine, no one did. Most people hadn't even heard of it.

If, by chance, I have an early hatch I'm happy to get that vaccine to you within the hour I mix it after I'm done with it.

Good luck!!

I sell the vaccine when I come over to the shows on your side of the mountain. The vaccine is $20.00 and I also have needles available. I will be in Monroe next Friday and Saturday.

Hey MotherOChickens!

I'm in Maple Valley area also.

Hello RainMom, we have several different types. I like variety... and was doing this just for fun/eggs/meat when we got started.

One of each; mottled java, plymouth rock (rooster -who's days are nearing the end), cuckoo marans, ameracauna, black cochin, blue cochin, partridge cochin, golden sex link, dark brahma, buckeye and a blue laced red wyandotte bantam... the bantam is sitting on 4 eggs due to hatch any day now... taken from a few of our best layers.

Hi CL,
I can't make the show, I have a class to teach me what to do if someone is trying to take over a bus. It should be really good.

Ok so now just saw there is a quilt show,
There is always a quilt show in the next barn over (at the spring poultry show in Monroe) and last year a horse show of some kind going on too as I recall.
Too bad you can't make it !
